SWG-A TG 1 Tokyo Resolution 1:  Create Appendix to User Needs Summary

Task Group 1 recommends that an informative appendix should be added to the User Needs Summary that indicates the name of the organizations that have provided feedback on the User Needs Summary and the date the feedback was considered by TG 1.


SWG-A TG 1 Tokyo Resolution 2:  Create Resource Document Index

Task Group 1 recommends the creation of an informative index of contributed resource documents listed in the SWG-A document register that were considered in the development of the User Needs Summary.


SWG-A TG 1 Tokyo Resolution 3:  Selection of Domain for Trial Gap Analysis

Task Group 1 recommends the designation of the Computer Hardware domain for the trail gap analysis.


SWG-A TG 1 Tokyo Resolution 4:  Establishment of Ad Hoc Groups

Task Group 1 establishes the following ad hocs to work between the September 2005 and March 2006 meetings of the JTC 1 SWG on Accessibility:
SWG-A TG 1 Tokyo Resolution 4A:  Ad Hoc #4

Ad Hoc #4:  Task Group 1 establishes an ad hoc to revise the User Needs Summary (including conducting a general document review) and to reorganize it to be consistent with Guide 71.  Dr. Vanderheiden, the User Needs Summary Editor, will lead this ad hoc.  A call for additional TG 1 participants will be issued.


SWG-A TG 1 Tokyo Resolution 4B:  Ad Hoc #5

Ad Hoc #5:  Task Group 1 establishes an ad hoc to develop an introduction to the User Needs Summary to help frame what the document is and to assist organizations that may contribute to and/or use the User Needs Summary.  _________________________ will lead this ad hoc.  A call for additional TG 1 participants will be issued.


SWG-A TG 1 Tokyo Resolution 4C:  Ad Hoc #6

Ad Hoc #6:  Task Group 1 establishes an ad hoc to map the User Needs Summary to a suitable set of technology domains.  _________________________ will lead this ad hoc.  A call for additional TG 1 participants will be issued.

SWG-A TG Tokyo Resolution 5:  Reconstitution of the Task Group 1 Ad Hoc to Explore Mechanisms to Foster Participation and Involvement

This ad hoc will develop a contact list, an information piece and invitations for individuals to comment on the User Needs Summary.  Volunteers to explore mechanisms are Mr. Andy Heath, Dr. Kate Grant, Mr. James Thurston, Ms. Judy Brewer, and Mr. Jim Tobias.  ITI will convene a conference call to initiate the activity.


Appreciation Resolutions


A. Task Group 1 expresses its appreciation to the National Body of Japan (Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC)) and the Information Processing Society of Japan/Information Technology Standards Commission of Japan (IPSJ/ITSCJ), for arranging and hosting this meeting in the excellent Keio Plaza Hotel facilities and the lovely delegates’ reception.  In particular, Task Group 1 expresses its special thanks to Mr. Mayumi Mita, Secretary General of IPSJ/ITSCJ, and Ms. Toshiko Kimura, Assistant Manager of IPSJ/ITSCJ, for their welcoming remarks, excellent preparation and hard work before the meeting and their outstanding and flexible support during the meeting.

 
B. Task Group 1 expresses its appreciation to the drafting committee members:  Ms. Josée Auber (France), Dr. Jim Carter (Canada), Ms. Connie Myers (US), Mr. Yoshihiko Nakano (Japan), Mr. Michael Takemura (TG 1 Co-Convener), Mr. Patrick Morris (SWG-A Secretariat) and Ms. Jennifer Garner (SWG-A Secretariat).


C. Task Group 1 expresses its appreciation its Conveners, Dr. John Gill and Mr. Michael Takemura, to Mr. Tom Albin for tracking changes to the User Needs Summary, the SWG-A Convener (Ms. Karen Higginbottom) and the SWG-A Secretariat (Ms. Jennifer Garner and Mr. Patrick Morris) for their leadership of this activity.
