Subject: Information on next
steps in relation to Mandate M/376
Dear Ms Higginbottom,
I am writing you on behalf
of the three chairmen of the Steering Group that coordinates the work of
CEN/CENELEC and ETSI on Mandate M/376 on European Accessibility Requirements
for Public Procurement of Products and Services in the ICT domain.
The Steering Group wants to
confirm that the 3 Draft Technical Reports produced by the JTC1/SWGA currently
under approval (User Needs Summary, Standards inventory and Guidance on
User Needs Mapping) will be fully taken into account by our European projects.
And a number of opportunities
to comment on the work in progress are coming soon. An open session of the
Design for All and Assistive Technologies Standardization Co-ordination
Group (DATSCG) is planned on 16 April at which session there will be a focus
on the work done by ETSI on the inventory of requirements and standards.
A further opportunity for an
open face-to-face discussion on both reports will be on 3-4 June in
http://www.ictsb.org/DATSCG_registration.htm
These opportunities come in
addition to the possibilities for on-line comments on the drafts (focal
access via http://www.ictsb.org/DATSCG_M376_started.html).
Yours sincerely,
Luc Van den Berghe
Secretary of the Joint Steering
Group
